Parent Engagement Hub

Welcome to our Parent Engagement Hub! We believe that the best outcomes for your child come when parents and caregivers are actively involved in their education and well-being. This page is designed to provide helpful resources, information, and ways for you to connect with us, stay informed, and support your child’s growth both at home and here at Young Horizons.

  • Building a Strong Foundation: Your involvement in your child’s education helps create a sense of security, belonging, and confidence.
  • Communication is Key: Regular communication between home and school fosters consistency and supports your child’s growth.
  • Partnering for Success: We’re here to work together to create a positive, nurturing environment for your child.

Stay Connected:

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: We offer regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss your child’s progress, strengths, and areas for growth. These meetings provide an opportunity to share insights and set goals together.
  • Daily Updates and Communication: We keep parents informed with daily or weekly updates about their child’s activities, learning milestones, and any special events.
  • Newsletter: Sign up for our monthly newsletter to stay updated on classroom activities, school events, and useful parenting tips.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Classroom Helpers: We love having parents come in to help with classroom activities, special events, or even just reading a story to the children!
  • Event Support: Assist with organizing or participating in school events, such as field trips or fundraising activities.
  • Special Skills Sharing: Do you have a special talent, skill, or interest (like music, art, or gardening)? Share your expertise with our children through a guest activity or workshop!

At-Home Engagement:

  • Read Together: Encourage a love of reading by reading with your child each day. Ask them about their favorite books and help expand their vocabulary.
  • Sharing learning themes: Extend the learning at home by following our learning themes at home, supporting their learning in a relaxed, enjoyable way.

We are committed to supporting you as a parent, not just your child. Our Parent Education section offers a variety of resources to help with parenting, child development, and learning strategies.

  • Parent Workshops and Events: We regularly host workshops on topics like early childhood development, discipline strategies, nutrition, and supporting your child’s learning at home.
  • Recommended Reading & Resources: We’ve curated a list of books, articles, and websites for parents on topics such as positive discipline, building resilience, and fostering emotional intelligence.
  • Local Resources: Discover other helpful resources in the community, such as pediatricians, family counselors, and support networks.

We value your feedback and believe in the power of two-way communication. Your thoughts and suggestions are important to us as we continuously improve our programs.

  • Parent Surveys: Periodically, we’ll send out surveys to gather your opinions on various aspects of our program. Your feedback helps us improve and grow.
  • Contact Information: If you have questions, concerns, or simply want to chat, our team is here to listen. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or our site supervisor.
  • Parent Advisory Council: Get involved by joining our Parent Advisory Council. This group meets regularly to discuss program initiatives, share ideas, and help us enhance the quality of care and education at Young Horizons.

Stay up-to-date on important events at our centers! Be sure to mark your calendar for upcoming events, field trips, parent meetings, and holidays.
